Food Donations

Another Way of Helping the Ocean Shores Food Bank Meet Its Mission Is to Donate Usable Food

Please consider picking up one of the items below, the next time you are in the grocery store.  This list will help guide you in providing the most beneficial food donation for our neighbors who need it most.

Here is a “shopping list” of the foods that we would love to see donated:

  • Canned tomatoes: sauces, whole, diced
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned meats
  • Canned tuna
  • Canned chili or stews
  • Canned soups
  • Breakfast cereals and oatmeal
  • Peanut butter
  • Cornmeal, pearled barley
  • Pasta and rice
  • Beans, lentils and split peas

You can drop off your food donations at the following locations:

  • Ocean Shores Food Bank: Tuesday’s 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Anchor Avenue Thrift Store: Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Ocean Shores IGA: During store hours
  • Galilean Lutheran Church: 824 Ocean Shores Blvd
  • Faith Community Church: 240 Canal Dr. SE

The following foods cannot be accepted:

  • Food that is out of date
  • Baby food
  • Opened containers
  • Home processed foods
  • Sugar-added drinks
  • High sodium snacks
